IMAGES FROM TROY
- Trojan War Art Museum: This site is a gem; it
includes wonderful images from the Bronze Age up to the Twentieth
Century. A must-see.
IMAGES FROM MYCENAE
- Aerial
views of Mycenae: This page also includes many other wonderful
images of Mycenaean art and artifacts.
- Dr. J's
Illustrated MYCENAE: This page is the gateway to a great set of
images and "lectures" about them.
- The
Lion Gate at Mycenae: A photo of the famous Lion Gate through which Agamemnon may have walked on his way to Troy.
- The
Treasure of Atreus: An arial view of a tholos tomb, popularly known as the Treasure House of Atreus
(Agamemnon's father).
- Yessy Art Gallery: A set of lovely images of Mycenaean artifacts.
They seem to be for sale, which surprised me. I had thought such objects
were protected by the country they were found in.
- Death Mask of Agamemnon:
A funerary gold mask known as 'Schliemann's Agamemnon,'" although it
was too early to actually have been Agamemnon's. It was found at Mycenae.
Second half of the 16th century BC.
