PSY 165 - Psychology of Human Sexuality - 3 Credits
Instructor :  Dr. Craig Cowden

Overview

Psychology 165 covers the scientific investigation of human sexuality and the psychological and social implications of such research. It includes the study of reproductive anatomy, sexual orientation and expression, sexually transmitted diseases and safe sex, sexual dysfunction and sex therapy, and the psychological aspects of gender. This course takes an empirical approach to sexology and does not attempt to resolve value-laden issues, though one chapter does discuss religious approaches to sexuality. (It is a good idea to save your syllabus if you should ever transfer—colleges sometimes want to see them before granting credit.)

Prerequisites : There are no prerequisites for this class, but English 111 and 112 are recommended, particularly for those who do not have a lot of experience with writing. I will assume you have mastered the mechanics of writing such as grammar, spelling, and clear presentation.
