ESSAY 3 -Write a 500-700 word essay in which you explain one of the following topics.  Be sure to review writing procedures the Sample Essay.

1. Describe the speaker’s attitude in one poem written by each of the following poets: Dunbar, McKay, and Cullen.

2. Explain the effect of geographical regions on an individual as shown in Toomer’s Cane or any of the other writers' literary works that you have read in The Norton Anthology of African Literature.

3. Characterize two of the women that appear in Toomer’s Cane or Zora Neale Hurston’s short fiction.
