Compare the rights mentioned in the French Declaration with those mentioned in the
Declaration of Independence and the English Bill of Rights.  This week's assignment
continues your examination of some key early political documents and the evolution of
the concept of human and political rights.  You have already looked at the English Bill
of Rights and the American Declaration of Independence, and this week you turn your
attention to the extremely important French Declaration of the Rights of Man.  In this
particular assignment you want to look very closely at the nature of the rights listed in
the two earlier political documents, and see if you can reach any particular conclusions
about the extent of those rights and how those rights appeared differently in the three
documents.  Remember that since this assignment is a comparison assignment, you do
want to include both similarities and differences in your short paragraph.  As noted
elsewhere, the French Declaration was really one of the fundamental political
documents of the modern world.
