For the final exam, which you must take by the end of your enrollment in the course, you should have already read the Findley/Rothney textbook chapters 10-18.  You may also decide to re-read some of the earlier chapters in the book.  Take a moment and read some of my notes on Globalization.

The final exam will consist of three parts:  map quiz (50 points), chronology (50 points) and essay (100 points).

For the Map quiz, you already have a copy of the blank map and a list of items to be located on the map.  On the exam, you will receive another blank map and be asked to locate twenty-five items.

For the Chronology, you will list (in chronological order) fifteen (15) significant world events, that you choose, since 1945.  Identify and explain the importance of each.
See the sample chronology.

The Essay, approximately two-three pages in length, that you will write in the testing lab is as follows:

Summarize and characterize developments in two diverse regions of the world since 1945.  Choose from Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, Sub-Saharan Africa, Eastern Europe or Latin America.

Please take the time to organize your thoughts in a logical manner and cite evidence to support your analysis.

You may choose to listen to some short remarks by your instructor about the final exam as a mp3 file.  You can also read the instructions as a txt file.

You may wish to participate in the Blackboard online discussion of the midterm essay assignment before you take the exam.

Finally, please remember that you must pass the final exam with a grade of "C" (140/200) or better to earn a passing grade in this course.
