Course description:

 

This course is an introduction to the Windows 2000 Server network operating system. Topics include outlining the network hardware, simple installation, client server model, domains, groups , security,  disk organization, configuring printing, setting up and configuring user accounts.

 

Attendance:

 

Regular attendance is required. It is the student’s responsibility to inform the instructor of any necessary absence. Students are responsible for all work missed during absence.

 

Assessment:

 

There will be two short exams during the course followed by a comprehensive final exam.


Examinations and grades:

 

 

Grades will be calculated according to the following schema:

 

            Exam #1                                   10% or 30%

            Exam #2                                   30% or 10%

            Final Comprehensive Exam       60%

 

            Grade A                       89% - 100%

            Grade B                       79% - 89%

            Grade C                       69% - 79%

            Grade D                       59% - 69%

            Grade F                       less than 59.

 

Makeup exams will not be given except for documented mitigating circumstances.

All forms of dishonesty including cheating, plagiarism etc. will result in the grade of “F” in the class and may result in dismissal from the college. While students are encouraged to work together as part of the learning process, all class work which is to count towards the student’s final grade must be the unassisted work to the student concerned.
