Currently professor of theatre and speech at NVCC's Woodbridge Campus, Dr.
Trumbull has taught full-time at Morris College in South Carolina, and as
an adjunct at Mary Washington College, George Mason University, and a number
of other colleges and universities in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland,
and South Carolina. At NVCC's Woodbridge Campus, his classes include
Acting, Theatre Workshop and Production, Directing, Theatre Appreciation,
and other Theatre-related classes; Introduction to Speech, and Public Speaking.
Trumbull is Director of the NoVa Woodbridge Theatre Group, which produces plays at the Woodbridge Campus. Their 2003-2004 season included Macbeth and Where's Charley?.
Trumbull's published works include: "With Powerful Melody," Northern Virginia Review 8 (Fall 1993), and his presentations at professional conferences include "Lyrical Leftism in 1930's Workers' Musicals" and "`Add a strike to all our troubles': `Powerful Melody' in Musicals of the American Workers' Theatre Movement During the Early Depression Era, 1929-1933." He is also at work on a book about the Musical Theatre of the American Workers' Theatre Movement--which is in its preliminary stages of procrastination.
Trumbull's interests include: Musical Theatre, Workers' Theatre, Political Theatre, computer-mediated instruction, Acting, Theatre History and Criticism. His acting experiences include performances in over 50 productions in educational and semi-professional theatres. He is a Member of the Association for Theatre in Higher Education and a former member of the East Central Theatre Conference.
