Math is Cumulative

Math is a cumulative subject—everything builds on what came before.
Like building a house of cards - you need a good foundation!

It is important to study and practice each Module as it is introduced. Subsequent Modules will build on earlier mastered skills. Assessments - quizzes and exams - may include any or all skills previously covered and not just the current Module's content.

The following is an overview of the different types of assignments in the course. You can find the detailed directions for the assignments and the grading rubrics in the Modules where they are assigned.

Reading, Videos and Homework

These activities are not graded, but still an important part of the learning process. Remember - Practice makes perfect!

Quizzes

These are graded checkpoints through the semester.

Proctored Assessments

The proctored assessments provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate your mastery of the course knowledge. You can find the information on how to take proctored assessments in the Taking Proctored Assessments section of the Syllabus.

Participation/Discussions

Engaging with other students concerning course topics allows you to share with and learn from each other.
