Grading Scale

NOVA Online proctored or major assessments are required to maintain compliance with our accreditation standards and the Higher Education Act’s identity verification requirements for online courses. College-wide, proctored or major assessments must prove identity. To accomplish this in online courses, students must show overall passing levels on the proctored or major assessments in order to pass the course.

In this online course, if your average score on all proctored or major assessments is a passing percentage of 60 percent or higher, then your grade will be calculated according to the scale in the table below. Otherwise, a final grade of F will be assigned.

Your final grade will be based on the following scale.

Grade Points Percent
A 769.5 - 855 90 - 100
B 684 - 769.4 80 - 89
C 598.5 - 683 70 - 79
D 513 -598.4 60 - 69
F 0-512 0-59

IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION: Assignments are due by the last night of the week they are assigned. Remember if an assignment is late, you will lose 10 points but will be graded if submitted no later than one week after the due date. Any assignment that is over a week late will not be accepted without prior approval . Be sure to keep up and not lose points.

Inactive students who have not completed at least two assignments by the inactive date (see overview of assignments in the syllabus) will be withdrawn. If there is a problem with this or anytime in the course contact your professor right away, not after deadlines. You need to be proactive in your courses just as you need to be in business. Dropping from this course by yourself or the professor may affect your status (veteran, financial aid, student visa, etc).
