Discussion Activities

Discussion Board assignments give you a "space" where you can further delve into our course content in collaboration with each other. You will explore the topics, issues, and questions related to our course content by responding to prompts posted in the discussion forums. There are 5 graded forums worth 40 points each plus one ungraded forum where you introduce yourself to the class. The Discussion Board assignments constitute 20% of the semester grade.

Case Studies

Written case studies are practical exercises in which you demonstrate your ability to apply what you have learned to hypothetical ethical dilemmas. There are also 5 case studies for you to complete worth 40 points each. The case studies constitute 20% of the semester grade.

Practice Quizzes

Practice Quizzes allow you to test your knowledge and understanding of each chapter. These quizzes are open book and you must achieve a score of 80% or better to get the completion credit of 15 points. You will will be provided a link specific to the chapter covered in each Unit. There is also a link provided in the Books, Materials, and Learning Tools section of the syllabus in the Textbook and Materials folder. The links take you directly to the publisher's website to take these quizzes. Taking these practice quizzes is a great way to test your knowledge, earn easy points, and prepare for the proctored assessments.

Proctored Assessments

Two closed-book proctored assessments test your acquisition of core knowledge/facts/terms, as well as your understanding of this knowledge in context. A midterm exam constitutes 20% of the course grade and covers Chapters 1-6. A final exam constitutes another 20% of the course grade and covers Chapters 10, 11, 12, 14, and 15. These assessments contain a mix of multiple choice, true/false, and essay-type questions.
