Your course grade will be determined according to the following.

*Self-Check Quizzes

There are 12 self-check quizzes in the course for a total of 100 points. Extra credit opportunities are embedded in the self-check quizzes. 

• To earn full credit for the quizzes (100 points), complete every question in at least ten quizzes and write the answers in your own words. 
• To earn credit for a self-check quiz, answer every question entirely in your own words. Most quizzes have more than ten questions, so answering all questions for all quizzes allows you to earn the full 100 points PLUS extra credit points.
  

Avoid plagiarism - do not copy/paste answers from online sources, even if you edit the answers you find. Online sources may include but are not limited to informational websites, chats, texts, and websites where students share answers to course assignments, ChatGPT and other AI apps/websites, and translation apps/websites. You can earn full credit ONLY with your own words; use your own less-than-perfect English and less-than-perfect scientific understanding.

Final Course Grade

NOVA Online proctored or major assessments are required to maintain compliance with our accreditation standards and the Higher Education Act’s identity verification requirements for online courses. College-wide, proctored or major assessments must prove identity. To accomplish this in online courses, students must show overall passing levels on the proctored or major assessments in order to pass the course.

In this online course, if your average score on all proctored or major assessments is a passing percentage of 60 percent or higher, then your grade will be calculated according to the scale in the table below. Otherwise, a final grade of F will be assigned.
