The following is a recommended not a required text. It is science activity resource book.

 Ashbrook, P. (2004). Science is Simple. Beltsville, Maryland: Gryphon House. It is not required but this makes an a good additional resource if you are working with young children and want appropriate science ideas. 

There is no specific Social Studies textbook. You will be provided with links to readings and articles in your assignments. 

In addition you will have on-line readings from a variety of sources listed under the appropriate week.
