Welcome to ENG 121 - Introduction to Journalism I, offered by Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) Online.
English 121 is an introductory journalism course and is the first in NVCC's series of journalism courses. You will learn the basics of journalistic wiring, newsgathering, and reporting by researching using internet, human, and print sources and by drafting, critiquing, revising and publishing your stories. You will participate in online discussions, take proctored assessments, and bring your stories to final publishable quality.
Though many online courses offer guidelines as to when assignments should be turned in, this course requires deadlines so that online discussions can be rich and meaningful.
