Here is an overview of all of the different types of assignments in the course. You can find the detailed directions for the assignments and the grading rubrics in the module where they are assigned.

Grammar Quizzes

Each module contains a page where you can practice grammar skills you will need as a technical editor. You then have the opportunity to showcase what you know in each module's grammar quiz.

Discussion Activities

The discussion activities provide you with an opportunity to deeply reflect on the readings assigned to each module and apply them to a problem. They will prepare you for the final project, which is broken into several steps/assignments and which is the major assessment in this course. Online discussion allows time to weave your thoughts and reflect on the readings and your experiences. The discussions provide you the opportunity to give and receive feedback and collaborate with your peers.

Written Assignments/Essays

The written assignments in Modules 1 and 2 will help you apply and communicate what you have learned in class.

Final Project

The Major Assessment in this course is the Final Project in which you create a pamphlet or brochure using all the skills you have learned in the course. This major assessment is broken down into several assignments, which build off one another and which are all included as part of the major assessment in this course.
