This is a Passport and UCGS transfer course.

General Course Purpose

As the global human population grows, it places increasing demands on the Earth’s natural systems. This has led to an increase in natural resource exploitation, pollution, climate change, and species extinction, among others. It is important for every global citizen to understand the scientific principles behind how our environment works and responds to such pressures. This course consists of both lecture and laboratory to engage students in an understanding of the environment and our role in it.
