The lab activities fulfill the laboratory requirements for this course. They emphasis DOING things, rather than merely exhibiting recall or geoscientific habits of mind. All the labs will be done online. There is a lab for each of the Modules in the course.
Read the instructions for each lab, and complete the activity to the best of your ability. The format and specific activities, as well as the digital medium and ancillary materials will vary from lab to lab. Each lab can be done up to three times before you submit it for a final grade. Labs should be done in order, as later labs depend on concepts taught in earlier labs.
Labs are worth variable numbers of points, depending on the tasks assigned and the number of questions. In general, the point values of labs vary between 30 and 60.
