Course Grades

Your course grade will be determined by the following: 

• Weekly assignments: 50 points each.
• Miracle at Philadelphia: 100 points.
• Midterm (proctored assessment): 150 points.
• Final (proctored assessment): 250 points.
• Canvas discussions: 5 bonus points each.
• Optional assignments: 2 5 points each.
• Special Project: 50-100 points.

*IMPORTANT: In this online course, the average of the two proctored assessment scores must be a passing percentage (60 percent) in order for you to pass the course regardless of your scores on other graded activities. For example, if you score a 55 percent on the first proctored assessment, you can still pass the course if you score a 65 percent or better on the second proctored assessment. Please contact your instructor if you require any clarification on this proctored assessment policy.

NOVA Online courses have a requirement for proctored assessments to maintain compliance with our accreditation standards and the Higher Education Act’s identity verification requirements for online courses. College-wide, proctored assessments prove identity so students must show overall passing levels on the proctored assessments in order to pass an online course. In this online course, the average of all proctored assessment scores must be a passing percentage (60 percent) in order for you to pass the course regardless of your scores on other graded activities.
