Weekly assignments provide you with opportunities to read, gather, and apply course content, concepts, and skills. These activities facilitate learning and the application of the knowledge and skills presented in this course.

The coding assignments give you the opportunity to apply what you have learned and practice skills taught in this course. These activities facilitate learning and the application of the knowledge and skills presented in this course.

Online Discussions

Discussion activities provide an opportunity to reflect on course readings, assignments, and your experiences while applying them to a problem. Discussions can help prepare you for course projects and assessments. All discussion board posts should be thoughtful, reflective, and concise.

Module Quizzes

The module quizzes assess your knowledge of the course material and help prepare you for the proctored/major assessments.

Programming Projects

The course project gives you the opportunity to synthesize and apply the knowledge you have gained in this course.

Proctored/Major Assessments

The midterm and final exams are the proctored assessments in the course. They provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate your mastery of the course content.

Final Course Grade

In order to maintain compliance with our accreditation standards, NOVA Online proctored or major assessments require identity verification. Proctored or major assessments must prove identity, and students must show overall passing levels on those assessments in order to pass the course.

In this online course, if your average score on all proctored or major assessments is a passing percentage of 60 percent or higher, then your grade will be calculated according to the scale in the table below. Otherwise, a final grade of F will be assigned.
