This course will provide you with a broad orientation in the field of marketing and an understanding of the role of marketing in the economy. You will learn about the following marketing concepts in the course:

This course serves as a general orientation course for students majoring in merchandising or students specializing in other fields, as well as a base for advanced courses in marketing.

You will be introduced to important terms, principles, and study theories as you read the 16 chapters in the textbook. The exercises will help you learn and remember these. The assignments that you turn in are intended to help you apply what you learn to real problems. The practice test will help you practice recalling the information you have learned before you take the exams.

Prerequisites:

There are no prerequisites for taking MKT 201, however, it is highly recommended that you have college-level English reading, writing, and comprehension skills and basic computer skills.
