College Physics, Openstax College, Cost: Free

  • You cannot get the text book at the Alexandria Book Store
  • The text book is open source (Free) and it can be downloaded as a PDF file or you can buy a soft bound copy at the same site for approximately $50.
  • You may also print the text (more than 1260 pages)
  • I would suggest that you download the PDF version of the text regardless if you buy the textbook.
  • There is also an iPad App that you can get for $4.99. Make sure you get the College Physics app, there is also one for AP high school physics and they look alike.

  • Go to http://openstaxcollege.org/textbooks/college-physics and scroll down to get the PDF file containing the Student Solution Manual.
  • The SSM will have full stepped out solutions for: every third conceptual question and every sixth Problem.
    • Answers to all odd Problems will be displayed in the online version of the text book when the student clicks the Answer link under an odd problem.
  • Go to the Homework Helps to get the download for the Student Solutions Manual.

  • All labs will be provided online. No lab book is necessary. Use other textbooks at your own risk.
