Here is an overview of all of the different types of assignments in the course. You can find the detailed directions for the assignments in the module where they are assigned.

Assignments are due in their specified weeks. You must complete the assignments (reading, participating in discussions, completing writing assignments, &/or taking assessments), participating in discussions, completing writing assignments, taking the weekly ungraded quizzes, and taking assessments) according to the schedule. You may choose what time during that week you will complete the assignment, taking into consideration your own obligations and external factors (such as library hours). Once the week is over, you can't turn in work late and still get credit for it. This is to make the course fair for all students.

Class Participation/Discussions

The discussion activities provide you with an opportunity to deeply reflect on the readings assigned to each module. They can prepare you for the projects and the proctored assessments. Online discussion allows time to weave your thoughts and reflect on the readings and your experiences. All of the posts on the discussion board are required to be thoughtful, reflective, and concise.

Writing Assignments

The written assignments cover three specific areas:

Term Paper

The term paper assignment affords an opportunity for library research, field research, and extensive research writing. It provides an opportunity for hands on learning and demonstration of knowledge.

Proctored Assessments

The proctored assessments provide an opportunity to demonstrate mastery of the course information and material. Because the testing centers are closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you will take your assessments at home. You will need a webcam and will use the college-provided Respondus brower. Assessments for this course are open book (you may use a hard copy of The Christian Theological Tradition textbook while taking the assessments).
