In order to successfully complete this course, you must demonstrate your understanding of the course materials. You will accomplish this by participating in and submitting several types of assignments.
Here is an overview of all of the different types of assignments in the course. You can find the detailed directions for the assignments and the grading rubrics in the module where they are assigned:
The discussion activities provide you with an opportunity to deeply reflect on the readings assigned to each module and apply them to a problem. They can prepare you for the projects and the proctored exams. Online discussion allows time to weave your thoughts and reflect on the readings and your experiences. All of the posts on the discussion board are required to be thoughtful, reflective, and concise.
The projects in each module can help you practice what you learned and apply it to solve a problem. They can prepare you for the proctored exams.
The written assignments and essays will help you apply and communicate what you have learned in class.
Quizzes assess your knowledge, understanding and critical thinking skills regarding concepts covered in each module.
Note: SDV 298 does not have an ABLE Exam. However, if you need to complete SDV 100 as part of your program please check to see if you are eligible to take the SDV ABLE Exam.
NOVA students must take an SDV course within their first 15 semester hours at the College. This requirement may be met in several ways:
About the Exam:
The exam is free. There are 50 questions that reflect the course content of SDV 100. The exam may be taken only one time. You will receive your score at the end of your exam. Credit will be applied, if appropriate, to your permanent record.
If you wish to use the exam results to fulfill the course requirement you should drop the course before the Census Date for a full tuition refund, or no later than the last day to withdraw without grade penalty.
