Here is an overview of all of the different types of assignments in the course. You can find detailed directions for the assignments and the grading rubrics in the module where they are assigned.
The MindTap activities are tied directly to each chapter in the Mankiw textbook. These MindTap activities include problems sets that will allow you to hone your abilities to connect the concepts learned to solve problems in an interactive graphical mode. Each chapter will have graded problem sets. You will be able to try each problem in the set up to three times before your work is graded. MindTap will use your highest score on each question to calculate your grade on a Homework assignment.
The Discussion Board activities will generally involve reading the textbook or an online article and then applying the learned concepts to your own life and the society we live in. After explaining your own perspective, you will view others' and contribute to their understanding.
There are six quizzes in this course; one for each Module. The quizzes are designed to assess your understanding of the Module’s material and as a preview of the types of questions you will encounter on the exams. Your lowest quiz score will be dropped from your final grade calculation.
There will be two proctored exams in this course.
Exams 1 and 2 must be taken in a proctored environment. These proctored exams arecomprised of 50 multiple choice questions.. They are worth 250 points each. Each has a 90 minute time limit.
For both exams, you may use ONLY a handheld, non-programmable calculator without Internet access and scrap paper. Please find the information on how to take a proctored exams in the Taking Exams and Using Exam Passes section below.
