Homework (WebAssign) For each module, you will complete homework assignments on WebAssign. The homework is developed to help provide access to lessons that reinforce concepts from your reading assignments. You will access WebAssign via Canvas. Labs The labs satisfy the Course Objectives - Laboratory Experience a through h. You will perform 12 laboratory assignments. The lab assignments include online simulations, hands-on activities with materials easily found at home and data analysis.

Research Project You will create an 8-10 minute video presentation on a topic in physics. The topic of the project must be approved by your professor before the date specified. This project must include issues from at least three different modules that have been covered in this course, so choose your topic carefully. This topic can be a current "hot topic" in physics or a historical discovery from the past. Discussion for the Research project: You are required to share your video for the research project in a discussion forum and watch and comment meaningfully on at least two other students' videos. |

Major Assessments*: There are four proctored exams in the course. Study guides and formulas will be provided. The proctored assessments provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate your mastery of the course knowledge. NOVA Online proctored or major assessments are required to maintain compliance with our accreditation standards and the Higher Education Act’s identity verification requirements for online courses. College-wide, proctored or major assessments must prove identity. To accomplish this in online courses, students must show overall passing levels on the proctored or major assessments in order to pass the course.
In this online course, if your average score on all proctored exams is a passing percentage of 60 percent or higher, then your grade will be calculated according to the scale in the table below. Otherwise, a final grade of F will be assigned.
In addition, students who get a zero on more than 50 percent of homework assignments, or get a zero on more than 50 percent of labs, will not earn a grade higher than a D regardless of other scores.
