Upon completing the course, the student will be able to:

Listening:

The student will understand simple spoken Arabic within the limited context of a student with one semester of Arabic study.

Speaking: The students will be able to speak using Modern Standard Arabic. The student will be able to form simple conversation with correct pronunciation at a novice or normal conversational speed.

Reading: The student will be able to comprehend reading selections in rearrangements and combinations of words and expressions already encountered. In addition, the student will be able to build on reading more complicated texts such as basic journal or newspaper. Topics could relate but not limited to different Arab cultures.

Writing: The student will be able to write accurately in Modern Standard Arabic what he/she has learned to understand, say, and read. In this level a student can use different tenses, present, past, and the future form.
