Discussion Board Activities
The discussion board activities provide you with an opportunity to deeply reflect on the readings assigned to each module and apply them to a problem. They can prepare you for the quizzes and the proctored assessments. Online discussion allows time to weave your thoughts and reflect on the readings and your experiences. All of the posts on the discussion board are required to be thoughtful, reflective, and concise.

There are chapter quizzes in each module. They can prepare you for the proctored assessments.
Proctored Assessments
There are four (4) proctored assessments. The proctored assessments provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate your mastery of the course knowledge. You can find the information on how to take proctored assessments in the Taking Proctored Assesments section of the Syllabus.
Research Essay
This essay fulfills the course requirement to conduct written research on a work of art or architecture. The work of art (or architecture) that you select will also be used to create your Research PowerPoint .
Research Powerpoint
Using the same work of art (or architecture) that you researched and discussed in your Research Essay, you will create a Research PowerPoint. In this PowerPoint, you will compile the important points of your research into a presentation for your classmates.
Art Analysis
This assignment was designed so that you can apply your knowledge of visual analysis, as described in the introduction of your textbook. Beginning with the visual elements and design principles, the form of the work, to derive at the work's style before considering aspects of its context and content. Understanding how to apply each of these components and how they work together to inform meaning in a work of art is a very important skill to acquire before beginning your research paper project.
