This course is the first semester of a two-semester course. It covers 5 lessons designed to strengthen the foundation that you have built in CHI 101 and 102. These lessons will help you continue to develop your language proficiency and cultural competencies further.

In listening and speaking, you will develop the ability to understand more complicated sentences through vocabulary buildup and understanding of the syntax; you will also develop your ability to narrate and describe a paragraph-length discourse on familiar topics with ease.

In reading and writing, you will develop your ability to comprehend short essays and dialogues and to produce compositions in several paragraphs.
