Course Objectives

Upon successfully completing this course, you will have met the following goals:

  • Express ideas and opinions successfully in large and small group discussions
  • Generate ideas, focus on a main idea in formal and informal presentations
  • Deliver ideas clearly with emphasis on correct pronunciation, stress, rhythm, intonation, eye contact in formal and informal presentations
  • Give appropriate responses to oral instructions
  • Convey different language functions such as agreeing, disagreeing, and asking for clarifications
  • Interpret native speakers' speech at a normal rate
  • Recognize cues given in academic lectures
