Video Lectures:
Each unit you will have a lecture explaining the topic for the week with questions to assist your comprehension of the concepts being presented.

Skills Practice: In class every week we will practice with guided activities from your book in class. Students will submit assignments each week to demonstrate mastery of these skills.

Research Paper I:
For this paper you will interview a working ASL Interpreter.  You will ask this person to talk about their interpreting experiences and to discuss the mental processes that go on while they are working.  You paper will explain what they said and then relate it back to the information you learned in the course. Your paper should be at least 2 pages long with 1-inch margins.

Research Paper II:
Watch an Interpreted Event.  Watch what happens- what are the logistics of the situation? What seemed to work?  What didn't?  How were things set up?  How did the interpreter interact with the clients?  How did they handle any situations that come up?  DON'T use names.  I just want to know what you learned from observing- in 2 pages or more with the standard 12-point font, 1- inch margins, etc.

Final Exam:
There is a final exam for this course that is based on the information presented in the readings and lectures. There will be no make-up exams without extenuating circumstances.
