Course Objectives

Upon successfully completing this course, you will be able to:

  1. Define and use basic anatomical terms.
  2. Name the principal body cavities and identify the organs located in each of them.
  3. Identify and describe the functional roles of each of the four major classes of organic molecules.
  4. Draw and/or label a drawing of the main parts of a typical animal cell and describe their functions.
  5. List and describe the characteristics of the four basic types of tissues.
  6. List and describe the main functions and organs of each organ system.
  7. Explain how the systems function in order to maintain homeostasis in the body. More specific objectives will be furnished with each lecture topic to assist you in learning and understanding the anatomy and physiology of the normal human body.
