If you complete this course and do well, you will be able to:

• build your proficiency in the five skill areas: speaking, reading, writing, understanding and knowledge of Russian culture and life;
• read in a different script and write in cursive;
• type in Russian (even if you can't type in English!);
• handle, but not automatically yet, the three most important cases (there are six - you learn the rest of the cases and practice them all in Russian 102 and 201);
• talk with Russians about yourself, who you are, what you study, where you study, where you live, how you spend your time, and other practical topics;
• ask Russians questions and understand many of the answers;
• do web search on the Internet in Russian.
