Overview |
|
In this course, you will learn to refine the research and writing skills you've already learned in ENG 111. Unlike many college courses, this section of ENG 112 will help you develop your own strategies and processes for researching and writing for an audience. You will learn to determine what information you need to respond to a problem, where to get it, when you've collected enough information to write a responsible and effective response, and how to present it. Instead of writing to please me, with your group you will develop your own standards of excellence.
You will learn by working alone, working with partners, and working with groups on a series of projects. Because this course relies heavily on groupwork for activities and learning, it is different from many other ELI courses.
This is not a self-paced course!
-
This section of ENG 112 requires you to move through the course at the same pace as the other students.
- You will have deadlines twice a week most weeks.
- You must be available to communicate with the other members of your group in a timely way via email, forums, textmessaging, or whatever way you and the members of your group decide to use.
What you learn in this course will benefit you by improving your research and writing skills as well as your ability to collaborate with others on projects.
