Overview

This introductory course is designed to provide students with a working knowledge of the language of medicine. What you learn in this course will benefit you by preparing you for the language spoken in the medical field.

If you complete this course and do well, you will be able to:

  • A. analyze medical terms by their word elements, e.g., prefixes, suffixes, roots
    B. translate medical abbreviations
    C. use a medical dictionary correctly
    D. correctly spell and pronounce medical terms
    E. read and interpret clinical information from patient care settings
