ITN 276 - Computer Forensics I - 3 Credits

Overview

This is a fully online asynchronous 8 week course that is designed to train computer technicians in the elements of computer forensics investigations. All cybersecurity professionals should be aware of most commonly used forensic processes and be familiar with legal requirements of recovering, analyzing and presenting data. This course teaches computer forensic investigation techniques for collecting computer-related evidence from a variety of digital media and performing analysis at the file system layer. Upon completion of this course, you are encouraged to take ITN 277, Computer Forensics II.

Prerequisites:

  • ITN 106 Microcomputer Operating Systems and ITN 107 Personal Computer Hardware and Troubleshooting (or ITE 221) or instuctor's permission;
  • Co-requisite: ITN 260 Network Security Basics.
