MUS 121: Music Appreciation I (3 Credits)
Overview

MUS 121 acquaints you with traditional and twentieth century music literature, emphasizing the relationship music has an art form with man and society. It will also increase your awareness of the composers and performers of all eras through listening and concert experiences.

In this course, you will learn to understand the art of musical performance and the contrasting elements of music from different periods; describe these variances verbally as well as recognize them aurally; recognize basic musical shapes and compositional techniques; and correlate musical growth with the historical growth of art as a whole.

PREREQUISITES: There are no prerequisites for this course.
