Overview


This is the study of fitness and wellness and how they relate to a healthy lifestyle. Fortunately, in this course we will be combining reading and learning with exercise and recreation.  You will be given an opportunity to learn about leading a healthy lifestyle and to actively engage in making positive changes to your personal fitness and wellness.

Objectives

 

If you do well in this course, you will be able to:

  • demonstrate an understanding of the physiological benefits of movement, physical activity and wellness
  • define principles involved in increasing and maintaining physical fitness;
  • evaluate and apply fitness and wellness concepts to individual lifestyle;
  • participate in movement and wellness activities;
  • design, implement, and evaluate a personal wellness program.

Exams

 


There are 2 online exams in this course. You are expected to take your examinations at one of the NVCC campus Testing Centers. Be sure to allow enough time to complete your exam before the Testing Center closes; Testing Centers have specific policies relating to the administration of ELI exams. You will need to take a photo ID, your NovaConnect empl ID number, and the appropriate Exam Pass when you go to the Testing Center.
