1. Mandatory on-campus labs: (AN Campus CS 230)

This course requires attendance at lab experiments on the Annandale campus (CS 230) on three Saturdays:

9/27, Expt 21 (12:30-3:30 pm);
10/25, Expt 35 (12:30-3:30 pm);
12/6, Expt 30 (2:00-5:00 pm).

There are no make-up lab dates.

Lowest exam grade of exams 2-6 will be dropped. However, the exam 1 grade will not be dropped.

2. Mandatory Online ChemSkill Builder (CSB) Electronic Homework:

The login/password is included in the Textbook package in the NOVA AL Campus bookstore. However if you choose to purchase the textbook from any other source, you must purchase the Online ChemSkill Builder login/password on your own from the McGraw-Hill web-site at    www.mhhe.com/csb.

Registration and Log-in Instructions

1. You must use your NOVA student  email (VCCS policy does NOT allow personal email to be used for all academic work) and go to www.mhhe.com/csb
2. Follow the prompts for new student registration
3. Make sure you select the following options:

    Northern Virginia Community College
    Annandale Campus
    Professor Savkar
   Course:  CHM112      Section : ELIFall08

4. Username: use the first letter of your first name and your full last name: ex: "Robert Smith"   will be  "rsmith"

5. Password:  use the full sequence of characters included in your software package. Do not change the password although the software may allow you to change it

Scores of 80% or higher on each assigned HW section will receive full credit.

3. All course videos are available on Video On Demand (VoD). In Blackboard, go to the Video folder in the Books, Materials, and Learning Tools folder in the Syllabus for instructions about accessing VoD.
