Writing an Argumentative Thesis about the Theme

In this course you will be writing a number of argumentative essays.  Some of you have had experience writing them;  many of you have not.  This exercise is designed to help you review the elements of an argumentative thesis about the theme of a piece of literature. 

All of the questions in this exercise will relate to "The Story of an Hour," by Kate Chopin.  Please read it carefully and print it out before starting this quiz.  As you read it on the internet, you'll find notes that will help you understand the story and will show you how to read a story closely.
