Students are required to write two module essays (each a maximum of two pages) on subjects chosen from the available topics.  Each essay is worth a maximum of 100 points.  You must do one essay based on visual material, i.e., the essay requires you to view some artwork.   (Check the "art" section on the topical selections web page for the visual/art options). You should use the Chronological, Biographical, Regional or Topical pages to select an essay topic. (You may do another module essay later as your personal choice assignment.)

Directions

Write your essay using a word processor (double-spaced, one-inch margins, font size 10 or 12).  Please take the time to organize your thoughts in a logical manner and cite evidence to support your analysis. In order to cite specific information or use direct quotations, students should use parenthesis, such as (www.africatoday/com/ethiopia/mengistu/bio.html). There should be a few, i.e., five to six minimum, such citations, from different web sources, in the body of each paper.

Please consult Charlie's History Writing Center for specific information on the writing requirements of this course.

Your assignment should be sent to your course instructor following the directions for submitting assignments.

Each essay is worth a maximum of 100 points.
