ProQuest Direct Newspapers Perform a search for newspaper information about concealed weapons.

1. Type concealed weapons (without quotation marks, Boolean operators, or capitalization) in the search box provided, select search.

2. Select the "newspapers" tab.

3. Note that some citations include the full-text and others contain only abstracts.

4. Select one of the full-text citations for viewing by selecting the hyperlinked article title.

5. Find the e-mail article icon on the left side of the screen.

6. If you want to print, use the "print article" button.

 

SIRS Perform a search for newspaper information about Muslim women.

1. Select the "Quick Search" tab.

2. Type muslim women in the search box and click search. (The default is a subject search. If you find nothing on your topic as a subject change to a keyword search.)

3. There are two subject heading - Muslim women and Women, Muslim. Check both headings and click on the "view checked subjects" bar.

4. Note that all results are full-text articles and some are from newspapers and others are from magazines. The newspaper articles usually give an exact date (e.g. April 4, 2002). The names of the newspapers are often followed by the name of the city where they are published - Detroit Free Press (Detroit, MI).

5.  Select one of the newspaper citations (individual article) and view it on the screen.

6. Locate the e-mail and the "clean copy for printing" symbols.

7. Click on the descriptors symbol to see what subjects the article is listed under.
