Now is the time to learn to use your calculator programs on your graphing calculator. On the TI 82 or 83 press 2nd CALC 2 (root or zero) to access this feature. Set the lower bound for the calculation by moving the cursor to the left of the root (zero) and press ENTER . Set the upper bound by moving the cursor to the right of the root and press ENTER . Set your guess for the root by moving the cursor near the x-axis and pressing ENTER . An accurate approximation for the root will appear at the bottom of the screen. Your calculator program will also find points of intersection for two graphs. Study this program in your technology guide Appendix A-Technology Support A1-A24, or on pages xvii to xxi.
