All registered students have been provided with LAN (Local Area Network) accounts that allow them access to campus computer workstations, e-mail and a personal web site.
User ID
Your user ID is created using the first letter of your first name followed
by the first 12 letters of your last name.
Ex: Joe Brown=jbrown
George Stepanopoulous=gstepanopolou
If your name is similar to that of another student, your user ID might
be created using the first two letters of your first name followed by the
first 12 letters of your last name.
If your first and last names are similar to those of another student, your
User ID might be created with a numbering system.
Ex: Joe Brown=jbrown
Jay Brown=jabrown
Jane Brown=jabrown1
If your first attempts at logging on are not successful, ask your instructor to look up your name in the Outlook Address Book, right click on your name, and choose properties to find the Alias which is also your User ID.
Password
Your
password has been created using 8 digits: your birth month (in two
digits) your birth date (in two digits) and the last 4 digits of your social
security number.
Ex: Your birthday is May 10, 1978 and your social security number
is 123-45-6789
Your password would be 05106789
Domain Name The student domain is nvstu

Your college e-mail address will use the following format:
Userid@nv2.cc.va.us
Ex. Jane Doe's e-mail would be jdoe@nv2.cc.va.us
To access your e-mail from a campus workstation,
double click on the Microsoft Outlook icon on the Windows desktop.
To access your e-mail directly from
the World Wide Web, go to http://www.nv2.cc.va.us
and provide your user ID and password at the prompts.
Personal Web Space
Your personal
web space can be found at http://www.nv2.cc.va.us/home/[Userid] where you
replace [Userid] with your User ID
Ex: Jane Doe's web site would be http://www.nv2.cc.va.us/home/jdoe
Publishing Web Pages
You can publish your
web pages by saving them to http:\\stumail\home\[Userid]
