The instructional design process at NOVA is an iterative, multi-layered, collegial one. Instructional designers work alongside NOVA faculty to create successful online teaching and learning experiences using research-based best practices. The instructional design team provides comprehensive assistance to faculty, chairs, and deans for the creation, refinement, and delivery of quality online courses and programs.
Instructional designers work with faculty to develop new online courses based on NOVA Online needs, dean requests, or faculty proposals.
Once an online course is developed, Online ID Help and course design assistants help faculty maintain the course by tweaking assignments according to student and instructor feedback.
The Course Support team provides technical support and prepares the course for upcoming semesters until the course is due for a major revision or redesign.
