Calcium is not found in any of the macromolecules we have studied to date.  In Bio 102 you will learn about the role of calcium in bone formation as well as nerve and muscle function.  Phosphorus is part of the structure of nucleic acids.  Oxygen is found in all of the macromolecules we have studied in this unit - carbohydrates, triglycerides and other lipids, proteins and nucleic acids.
