In objective 4 in the study guide is a list of basic terms in ecology that you should know.  Photosynthetic plants (producers) are autotrophs.   There is another group of autotrophs, the chemotrophs, that we won't study in this class.  However, if you are interested, you might check this out - page 350 in your text.
