Discussions

There is one introduction discussion in the course to help you get to know your classmates.

Integrity and Identity Proctored Activity

There is one ungraded proctored activity that requires students to download Respondus LockDown Browser. You can find directions for downloading Respondus LockDown Browser at the following link: Downloading Respondus LockDown Browser.

The purpose of the Required Integrity and Identity Proctored Activity is to confirm that you have read and agree to abide by the Student Code of Academic Integrity located in the NOVA Student Handbook and to verify your identity through Respondus LockDown Browser + Webcam. You will be asked to take a picture of yourself using your webcam and show your ID (either school ID or government ID with your personal information covered) to verify your identity. You must complete this assignment before you can complete your proctored assessments.

CareerSafe Online

The majority of the course will take place on CareerSafe Online. You will set up your CareerSafe Online account and access the OSHA-10 course through careersafeonline.com. CareerSafe Online consists of 14 modules on the topics of General Industry. Each module contains knowledge checks and a quiz you can take at the end for self-assessment. You can take the quizzes as often as you like. After completing all modules, you will be required to take the Final Assessment. The Final Assessment can be taken up to three times. You must pass the Final Assessment with a grade of 70% or higher within 3 attempts in order to pass the course.

After successfully completing the Final Assessment, you must complete the Course Survey. The Course Survey must be completed in order to complete the course.
