Exams : Be Prepared!

Study
Once you have completed all of the readings and exercises in the Study Guide and text that a particular exam covers, study the material. This involves knowing all new vocabulary AND being able to apply the terms and concepts in a new situation.  Check out 5 additional study suggestions for success!
Take Practice Test
There is a practice test for each exam. Once you feel that you have mastered the material then take the practice test as if you're taking the real exam. Since questions of similar depth and subject matter are on the actual exam, you performance on the practice test will serve as a barometer for the actual exam. Although some of the questions on the exam may be similar to the questions on the practice test (there are only so many ways that some things can be asked!), most of the questions will be DIFFERENT. After you finish taking the exam, score the exam.  If you find you are missing questions on a given topic, restudy that material.
Take Exam in LRC
Take the exam as soon as possible after you complete studying for the exam.  Before you go to the LRC, review the information on taking exams at a NVCC Campus Testing Center.  Also, don't forget your exam pass. Please don't let the exams stop you from completing the course. If you have test anxiety, check out some tips for combating test anxiety from the University of Illinois.
