Surviving Cellular Respiration

Please try to view the videos.  If you aren't viewing the videos on cable (or the videos that you need haven't been shown yet), they are on reserve at the NVCC Learning Resource Centers/Libraries. Go to the circulation desk and request the ELI Bio 101 videotapes Cellular Respiration II and Photosynthesis (videotapes  #9 and #10).  Most students consider this unit the most difficult unit in Bio 101; viewing the videos should help you grasp the major ideas in this unit and not get lost in the details.
After viewing the video tape and studying the material in the text, see if you are able to answer all the questions in the Study Guide. If you do not understand a given answer, be sure to ask for further clarification.  For example, you should know the overall equations for glycolysis, aerobic respiration,  and fermentation and what is accomplished by each process.  However, you do not need to memorize, for example,  the steps in glycolysis or the Krebs citric acid cycle. The video tapes and the Study guide questions should help you focus on the "big" ideas.
