Task #3: Introduce yourself to the class by creating a homepage
for this class. Create your Personal Homepage using the Web Course in a
Box software provided on my electronic syllabus.
I gave you your user name and password in class. Enter them in the boxes when
requested. Click on the Help/Utilities Icon for directions. Then click on
Create/Edit your Homepage. Be sure this is online by Jan. 26th before class!
- Under the Current Biography section, be sure to include your occupation, your college
curriculum, career goals, something you have read recently that was significant, and
something about your past writing experiences. You may include other information, such as
something you believe in strongly or any other information that will help other students
to know a little about you. Be sure to space in five spaces between paragraphs for easier
reading. Be sure to include a correct email address, so the teacher and other students can
easily get in touch with you. If at any time during the semester your email address
changes, be sure to key in your new one on your Web page.
- Under the Special Interests section be sure to include your interests and hobbies, likes
and dislikes, travels, and anything else you would like to share. Be sure to space
in five spaces between paragraphs for easier reading. You may leave the Learning
Links section blank at this point. Also remember that whatever you put on the Web
does become public information so include what is appropriate information for this
literature/composition course. Have fun with this!
Task #4: Find a
study partner or study group.
Go to the homepages of the students in the class and
read them. Find two students that you think you'd like to work with. You may
choose to correspond by e-mail or in person, but you will have assignments to do together,
so find two people you think you'd be comfortable working with. Then e-mail each of
them. In your note, introduce yourself and ask about their availability to be your
study partner. When you have found one or two, e-mail me with the name or names. |
