Explanation of Assignments and Grading

In HIS 135, you must do the following assignments:

Paragraphs:
Introduction (50 points)
Paragraph 1 (50 points)
Paragraph 2 (50 points)

Exams:
Midterm (200 points)
Final (200 points) In addition, you must pass the final exam with a grade of "C" (140/200) to pass the course.

Papers:
Module Essay 1 (100 points)
Module Essay 2 (100 points)
Module Essay 3 (100 points)
Current Events Paper (100 points)

Alternative to the Papers
Your Personal World History Paper (500 points)

Blackboard:
Ten postings to Blackboard (50 points)

Extra Credit Opportunities:
a My Family and History paper for up to 100 points extra credit.
a Pop Culture paper for up to 100 points extra credit.
You may do an optional movie review paper for up to 50 points extra credit.
You may do an extra (optional) module essay paper for up to 50 points extra credit.
You may do the optional extra credit web module creation for up to 400 points (see details), but this must be approved and started early in the course.
You may post five additional times to Blackboard for up to 5 points extra credit for each posting.
